Public Safety Committee
VISION STATEMENT: To create an open communication between all of the public safety entities and the stakeholders of the Greater Valley Glen Community; to promote and inspire involvement and new and existing Neighborhood Watch groups; and to engage, sponsor and co-sponsor Community outreach programs to these ends.SPECIFIC GOALS STATEMENT:
1. To promote local Public Safety Entities to all Stakeholders;
2. To raise Stakeholder awareness of programs offered by Public Safety Entities;
3. To work with Public Safety Officials to bring about a Partnership between Stakeholders ,the Community and all of the Public Safety Entities serving them;
4. To develop Neighborhood Watch groups in every neighborhood in Greater Valley Glen;
5. To encourage Emergency Preparedness programs for Stakeholders through the Neighborhood Watch groups;
6. To encourage Earthquake Emergency preparedness for Stakeholders through the Neighborhood Watch groups;
7. To support, co-sponsor and provide financial assistance to National Night Out Programs held in Greater Valley Glen through the local Neighborhood Watch groups; and
8. To sponsor a Greater Valley Glen Safety Fair and Community Pancake Breakfast benefiting Valley Glen Fire Station 102

Planning and Land Use Committee
VISION STATEMENT: The Planning and Land Use Committee monitors and reports to the Board on zoning and planning issues for specific projects and developments located in the Greater Valley Glen area only, as well as other City and/or State proposals that affect the status quo and the quality of life regarding current codes and zoning regulations.
SPECIFIC GOALS STATEMENT:
1. To ensure that the Planning and Land Use Committee will make timely decisions and recommendations on specific projects, modifications, CUP applications, and zone changes that are proposed for the Greater Valley Glen neighborhood.
2. To review larger development issues such as overlay zoning proposals, general plan modifications, overall density issues, and issues of height and bulk of proposed developments, and other current topical issues such as affordable housing, etc. and to present to the Board of the Greater Valley Glen Council our best efforts to determine what serves the interest of the community except that all planning and land use projects outside of Greater Valley Glen Council area will be exclusively handled by the GVGC South East Valley Development Committee.

Community Outreach and Neighborhoods Committee
VISION STATEMENT: Facilitate communication with the stakeholders of Greater Valley Glen by creating community awareness and encouraging participation.
SPECIFIC GOALS STATEMENT:
1. Develop and increase the e-mail list for Greater Valley Glen;
2. Keep website current and up to date;
3. Promote town hall events in conjunction with other committees;
4. E-mail agendas and news flashes to the email list;
5. Conduct "Public Officials night"; and
6. Introduce the neighborhood to community organizations, businesses and other Community institutions

Government and Business Relations Committee
VISION STATEMENT: The Greater Valley Glen Council’s Government Relations Committee empowers stakeholders with opportunities to weigh in on public policy and government-related issues. The full Greater Valley Glen Council will then send recommendations to local and state officials in the form of community impact statements as well as written and verbal correspondence. Further, to create a channel for communication between the Business Community, the Greater Valley Glen Council and all Stakeholders.SPECIFIC GOALS STATEMENT:
1. Keep up-to-date on City Council proposals and agenda items.
2. Weigh in on important issues;
3. Write proposals as needed;
4. Host public events and workshops in Greater Valley Glen Council to accomplish the above vision statement; and
5. Periodically reevaluate the committee’s mission statement and make changes as needed.
6. To promote the businesses of the Greater Valley Glen Council area to all stakeholders and to determine the number of Commercial and Home based businesses in Greater Valley Glen;
7. To raise awareness of the stakeholder status of the business community in the Greater Valley Glen Council;
A. Identify business/merchant leader for ethnic business community; and
B. Sponsor and conduct‘”Q” conditions seminar (affects Valley Glen area only) and Develop a “Q” condition violation procedure;
8. To work with government agencies and commercial enterprise to bring unique and desirous businesses to the Greater Valley Glen Council area and recommend a Board Member representative to represent GVGC for the VICA/Economic Alliance; and
9. To work with other Greater Valley Glen Council. Committees for business outreach opportunities.

Parks and Community Improvements Committee
VISION AND GOALS STATEMENT: To promote and implement improvements to the appearance and common good of the Greater Valley Glen community through park improvements and beautification projects, including but not limited to median plantings, monument signs, and public parks as well as facilitate grants to help support these goals.

Vision Statement and Goals: To research, develop and pursue funding for a streetscape plan for Victory Boulevard and the median islands on Victory Boulevard and Whitsett Avenue in Greater Valley Glen; and to organize and plan a maintenance program for the median islands on Victory Boulevard and Whitsett Avenue in Greater Valley Glen.

Rules, Bylaws & Elections Committee
PURPOSE: To review and make recommendations to the council regarding the current bylaws, standing rules and organize and proposed rules for the conduct of GVGC Board and Committees; and to assist the City Clerk in planning for the next GVGC election.

Southeast Valley Development Committee
PURPOSE: To review and cooperate with other Neighborhood Councils and organizations regarding proposed developments outside of the Greater Valley Glen jurisdiction but affecting Greater Valley Glen – primarily but not exclusively limited to the South East Valley. This Committee shall have exclusive responsibility with reviewing, monitoring and making recommendations regarding all planning and land use projects outside of Greater Valley Glen Council area.

Cambridge Farms Recycling Issue
PURPOSE: To facilitate resolution of neighborhood concerns regarding the problems caused by the Recycling Center located at the Cambridge Farms Shopping Center on Burbank Boulevard.
